Most Christians are aware of the vicious worldwide assault on religious freedom. Even in the United States, the liberty promised by our First Amendment is under attack.
The extreme persecution in our day may cause some to question if there is a reason to have hope; this is undoubtedly the way the disciples felt when Jesus was nailed to the cross.
Jesus, the “Messiah,” “The Light of the World,” who had come to proclaim liberty to the captives, and freedom from religious burdens and societal structures, was dead.
The oppressive civil government, responding to evil cultural leaders, thought they had stamped out Christianity even before it could begin.
The crucifixion of Jesus brought gloom and darkness upon the earth and in the hearts of the disciples of Jesus.
However, they found assurance in the words of the prophet Isaiah, even as we do today:
“Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you” (Isa 60:1-2).
Rejoice, Rejoice! Our Lord has risen; he is alive!
Good Friday, yes, but Sunday is coming! Arise, and allow His Light to brighten this dark world!

“Lets Teach Our Children to Love”
Why is it so difficult for our educators and society, in general, to understand that love and respect for one another taught from a young age can solve much of the world’s hostility and social problems!
“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it” (Prov 22:6).
Love is the answer!
True loyalty springs from the heart and is wrapped in love. It is often in our most private moments that true loyalty, or the lack of it, is made known.
